The Best GTA V Realistic Mods List

Introduction

GTA V Realistic Mods are available in plenty, it ranges from adding new characters and vehicles to the game, giving it a completely new look and offering brand-new game types as well. We’ll discuss the top 5 mods for GTA V in this article to make it look even more authentic.

Given that GTA V wasn’t made with modders in mind, unlike Skyrim, the size of the modding community is particularly astonishing. There are no official resources for making mods, and there is no official means to incorporate mods into your game.

Here’s a warning before you use any mods. Rockstar has said that while it will never ban you for altering your single-player game. However, it does not want mods to be utilized in GTA Online. Thus, it is imperative that you play offline if you have modifications loaded or turn them all off before going online.

Fortunately, most of the mods include an inherent switch that can be used to turn them off. Therefore, if you intend to play GTA Online in addition to single-player, take care while choosing the mods you install.

How to install GTA 5 mods on PC

The list of mods below will include some form of instructions on how to install the mod on your PC. You just have to read the descriptions from the videos below on the YouTube site for the download links together with the instructions on how to install them.

Here, we will only cover the most basic requirements to install mods on GTA V and the first common requirement would be installing Script Hook V by Alexander Blade.

Since most of the current mods are scripts, you’ll need the most recent version of Script Hook to get them to work. Visit http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/ to get the latest version of Script Hook, then click the download link inside the table. Avoid clicking the “Download” images from the advertisements.

Installation is pretty straight forward. Below is the instructions from the download page.

1. Copy ScriptHookV.dll to the game’s main folder, i.e. where GTA5.exe is located.
2. In order to load asi plugins you need to have asi loader installed, you can download it separately or use the latest version that comes with this distrib (dinput8.dll). You must delete previous asi loader version (dsound.dll) if you have one installed.
3. This distrib also includes a sample asi plugin – native trainer, if you need a trainer then copy NativeTrainer.asi too.

Concept
The main concept is that compiled script plugins depend only on ScriptHookV.dll, so when the game updates the only thing that user must do in order to make scripts working again is to update script hook runtime (i.e. ScriptHookV.dll).

There’s another version of Script Hook written in .NET framework. Some script mods need both the Community Script Hook V.NET and the Script Hook by Alexander Blade.

To use this version of Script Hook, you will need Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 (Skip this if you’re using Windows 10 and above) and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2019 (x64) to be on your PC.

Once you have those two installed. Download and install the original Script Hook V mentioned above and then download the Community Script Hook here. Lastly, copy the ScriptHookVDotNet.asi, ScriptHookVDotNet2.dll, and ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll into your game directory.

Some mods may require you to install additional plugins or utility like the LUA Plugin and also the OpenIV which we will not talk more about it here. You may head to their site for the instructions on how to install them. Also, you will only need to install these if the Mod requires you to.
